Another picture with a girl, I think my gallery is about to get flooded by girls... Perhaps I should put all my delusions to side and make a picture with a male in it.
Anyway... I wanted to make a winged creature, and went for this solution.

This is all about texture for me.....the texture on her wings, on the clouds (with all the color variations as well), and the best part - the texture on the ground/rocks beneath her feet. I love the talons on the top and bottom of her wings. Excellent!

This reminds me, I have a gargoyle character that I drew way back when. I've been meaning to draw her again.
