This is an illustration for Fantasy Flight Games collectible card game named A Game of Thrones, which is based on the world of best-selling author George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice & Fire. This belongs to the Iron Throne collection.

The character is Renly Baratheon, one of the Baratheon brothers. He is a tall, dark haired, handsome and well-built young lord. A veritable clone of his brother Robert, before he went to seed.

Illustrations for card games like this always have short deadlines, and are supposed to be viewed on a smaller scale than here.

Brilliant. I'm used to visualising Gethin Anthony when it comes to Renly Baratheon but from reading the books, this is exactly how I would envision Renly to look.

I love the pose and his expression too.The armour especially looks amazing.

I cant get out of my mind the HBO's Renly when I hear of him but I think that if I had read the book first this is how how I would imagine him <3
